I went out for a few hours to go shopping and came home to a flooded kitchen. My kitchen tap had sprung a leak. I called a plumper to fix the tap but water had already leaked down into my basement. I was worried about the water damage. I called Restoration 1 Ottawa because they had some good reviews on the internet. They answered the phone immediately and came by to check out the damage. Within a few hours I had fans drying up the mess. I was very happy with their quick professional service. I was worried about possible mold forming after the water damage but Restoration 1 examined everything after it was dried out a few days later and told me I had nothing to worry about. Now 6 months later all is still well.

Restoration 1 to the Rescue A flood in our bathroom caused damage to the hardwood floors throughout our entire condo. There was additional water damage to the two units below. After the initial consultation, with a restoration company our insurance provided, we were told repairs could take up to a year. During that time, we would be forced to move out. Unhappy with the lengthy time frame, I immediately searched to find another contractor. Enter Jamie Luck, from Restoration 1, in Ottawa. Upon his initial assessment, in September, Jamie walked me through the steps needed to complete the restoration. He took the time to answer my many questions and assured me that the job would be done not only to our satisfaction, but in a timely manner. Floors would need to be ripped up and reinstalled, as well as drywall replaced in both the bathroom and two hallway closets. Yet, Jamie assured me we would be back in our home by Christmas. The entire team at Restoration 1 worked diligently to complete the momentous tasks. Jamie was quick to update me on the progression of the work and walked me through the completions, with each visit to our home. During the mold removal in the hall closet, more, extensive mold was found, extending into the kitchen and behind the cupboards. The insurance company had missed this in their original inspection. The lower cupboards had to be rebuilt, and a 4-foot-high area, across the back of the main kitchen wall had to be gutted for mold removal. Imagine our joy, when on Christmas Eve Day, we arrived home to the most gorgeous restoration. New, dark, gleaming hardwood floors, the vast drywall project complete, and freshly painted walls. The entire crew was there to greet us, while working on the last-minutes details. It was a Christmas to remember.
