Revera Poseidon Long Term Care Home

I was dismayed to see the negative comments posted about this facility and am sorry for the families concerned. I, for one have nothing but good things to say about this particular Poseidon residence. After visiting and researching several other options, our family immediately felt the welcoming atmosphere of the spacious, sunny main floor with its piano and birdsong from several caged colourful birds and huge TV and computer and library shelves and ongoing fresh supply of coffee and tea. However more important is the wonderful staff. My Mom has been here for over one year and through our many visits and experiences we have observed that she is as happy as can be considering she had to leave her beloved home. Yes, there were some adjustments and teething pains but it did not take long for her(and us) to realize she is well looked after, safe and can partake in as many activities as she likes. She is treated with respect and patience and the staff is always quick to respond to any concerns we have. The meals are varied and plentiful and tasty with many snacks and there are varied activities and a lovely outside sitting area. The spring tea and the Christmas parties in particular are impressive and fun and every effort is made to include everyone. My mom had the option to move elsewhere but chose to make this her permanent home. We are all grateful that our Mom is in good hands.

I go to many different care homes due to the nature of my work. I love the staff here and the residents love it too. It is an older building and there can be a lot of maintenance issues. However it is the people who make the care phenomenal. From the Executive director to the housekeeping the people here make the residents feel happy, welcome and cared for. I hear it constantly from the residents themselves ''I am spoiled here'' or ''they treat me like gold''. I would trust putting a family member in this home.

The staff are attentive, skilled and kind. Our family appreciates the dedication the staff demonstrate. Thank you!

The staff are amazing at Poseidon. They were warm, friendly, and tentative and made my Mom feel special. We know the facility was older and she had to share a room, but the staff made up for this shortcoming. She was in there during Covid and the FaceTime visits were always on time. We did move our mom to a place with her own room but would totally recommend Poseidon
